Debra Teng graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1995, and, several years later, received professional acting training at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts under the sponsorship of the British Chevening Scholarship. Debra has a broad range of experience as a business consultant, client manager, corporate trainer/facilitator/role-player across various industries including legal, wealth management, FMCG, healthcare, broadcasting, banking, IT, telco, oil & gas, and aviation. She was an Associate Partner with The Gallup Organisation, where she was responsible for the business development and client management for Singapore and the region. Prior to that, she worked as a Senior Consultant/Facilitator where she was involved with developing and facilitating training programs. She was also a part of the pioneering team that helped set up Singapore’s western healthcare cluster, Juronghealth which went on to attain the top 2nd spot in the Patient Satisfaction Survey the following year. Debra works extensively as an associate with international training and assessment companies from UK, USA and Australia, with clients including Bakers and McKenzie, KPMG, Peat Marwick, UBS, Merrill Lynch, Barclays, World Bank, BP, Shell, AT Kearney, Accenture, Rolls Royce, Changi Airport, Singapore General Hospital, Changi General Hospital, P&G, BP, Johnson&Johnson, Deutsch Bank, DBS Bank, Telstra, Petronas, British-American Tobacco, Symrise, Volvo, Phillips, GSK, Unilever, Fries-land Campina, BBC, and ING Bank. Some of the programmes that she has been involved with include Culture Diversity and Inclusivity, Difficult Conversations, Talent Management, Coaching, Management & Leadership, Mission Vision Values, Team-building, Mapping of Customer Experience, Excellent Service and Change Management programmes, using traditional as well as bespoke delivery methods, forum theatre, and adult experiential learning techniques.

As an actress, she has won numerous awards and accolades for her work over the years, and she can be seen regularly on television, film and the theatre. In 2015, she was invited to present an Award at AIFFA (ASEAN International Film Festival Awards) in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Debra is also an avid diver and marine conservationist and is an ambassador for Shark Guardian, a UK-registered charity. She is currently working on a Sexual Harassment project.
